state owned vehicle assigned to the housing
authority being
parked at the Dario between 1 1/2 to 2 hours almost daily?. What
business
related to the housing authority could be transpiring in this restaurant
Who is the watch dog over
the proper use of state vehicles? With the county and state budget constraints,
why would any employee be allowed the use of a state vehicle for
personal use?

seems someone would do so. this year we must make changes, how much
worse could they be. we need someone to run on republican ticket for
county supervisor. What really happen to Mike Stevens?? Whose toes did
he step on.? Do as I have done to WBCU , turn to another channel until
Mike comes back on. . Remember what insanity stands for, expecting new
results by doing same thing. Listen folks we have nearly 25%
unemployment, another 30% on welfare or disability and no new plants
coming in. What have our council members, Mike Anthony, county
supervisor done for us, except putting us in position for the 19th worst
place in America to live. Vote the leaches out of office or here we go

DOES JOEY ENGLISH HAVE ASPHALT ON HIS MIND
As I understand it Joey got some asphalt from
SLOAN for some roads in his district. I don't believe he went through
proper channels to do so if there is any there should be. Well, I
understand not long after, SLOAN was to be fined 35,000 dollars due to
not doing something they should have done. A vote was taken by the
county to either fine them or let them go. I understand the loan
holdout was Joey English. Ask yourself this question. Do you think
that Joey English was motivated to vote not to fine SLOAN due to the,
"free asphalt." This is why I say vote for Hyder. English seems to
believe rules apply to all except those that do him a favor. I would
also like to state that there is no evidence that SLOAN asked or
expected a special favor that I am aware of.

I still don't see what the problem is with a team practicing on
the new field. It was not interfering with anyone playing, and surely
they weren't destroying the property, so why not? Should we really be
this way about the complex. People can go there to walk, and the kids
can play on the playgrounds, but a team cant use the dirt to practice?
I'm sorry, but this sounds a bit greedy to me. I would never have
voted for such an expensive place when that money could have been used
elsewhere, but since its there, and we all are paying for it, then as
long as people take care of the property, then I say..use it. I would
love nothing more than to ride by the ball field everyday and see a
group of children practicing, because to me, that means, they're not
drinking, doing drugs, or breaking into to someone's business or
residence.

I have a few questions that I would like answered.
What has Tommy Sinclair, herein after referred to as "The General"
actually done since he has stepped into the Supervisors role? Is there
actually anything? He has done nothing but been somewhat of a "yes man".
Name ONE THING he has done to better this community.....
Does the public not remember that The General has ALWAYS tried his best
to be apart of the "IN CROWD"? That's right people, he has always tried
to run in that circle, the problem is that they would use him for their
leg work but would never actually let him in.
The entire time he was in the school system he was part of the good old
boy system, hiring his friends and the Blackmon's friends and putting
the "well to do citizens" kids in those school jobs instead of hiring
the best candidate for the job. He thought he was well connected until
the Marion Parrish fiasco and he got caught on the outside looking in
and ended up on the wrong side of all that. Why don't you go ask his
former employees what kind of a person he is?
Have you never wondered why he never made it as a Principal at the High School?
Why dn't you go check and see about how he ran the "Personell" (only
there 2 years, I think) job and then when it was obvious he was not in
the "Network" enough to get the Superintendent job he "Retired".
How about him spending the school money (Sims) for power and using the
school utensils and ovens to cook BBQ after he had a falling out with
his own family and they refused to associate and cook with him anymore?
How about those are the same family members that he has found
"legalities" and cut out of the land out there on the Meansville road
that belonged to their Aunt and was supposed to go to other members of
the family but the Last Will and Testament got "changed" a few months
before she died (it seems as if she was in her mid 90's? I think she
was a Lee...) and miraculously he and his SLED agent brother got it all.
Funny that now, when he has a problem and calls SLED.
I read that he owned a construction company for 10 years,
really? Who was his partner(s), what did they "construct?"
Don't be fooled, The General is running for Supervisor at 14,000 because that is
all he can legally make and still double dip into his School retirement
and his Military retirement. Did anyone else notice that if he wins,
the remainder of the Supervisor's salary "He has discretion over to use
to attract business etc."? He can do with it what he wants....you heard
it right.
This is just more of the same people, except maybe more dangerous, after
all, he has always been kept on the outside of the "in crowd" now he
wants his shot at being "The In Crowd."
Be careful that you don't let a fox in the hen house. The General is a
fox......

I have for years now said that any punishment should fit the crime. If you rob a bank, you should go to prison for robbery. But, if you decide to have a some sort argument with someone, you should not loose your job over it. Well folks, let me tell you a story i heard today. A local man was working the counter at a local auto parts store, NAPA. In walks Mr Mightier Than Thou, Howard Wells . Mr Wells proceeds to get a attitude toward the counterperson and the counterperson gets a attitude back at Mr Wells! Since Mr Wells is in tight with Mr Jeter, The counterperson is fired! I can understand if he gets a day or two off with no pay , but to loose your job over this??? I cant do anything to Mr Wells, even though i would love to mess his hair up, plus it is legal for me to own a gun. One thing i can do, I will forbid my mechanic from buying any parts for my car at NAPA!

Mickey Gist is a good man and understand
the working class. I am a white male and have known Mickey for over 30
years since the days he coached at Union High. He is a fair ,hard
working man. Most important he is a change from the past. We must make
changes or we will remain where we are at or maybe even worse. Mickey
will serve the people of Union with honor. Please consider this person
for the next County Supervisor and give change a chance. Insanity is
doing the same thing and expecting different results.

Why is everybody being so hard on the softball team they are winning and
they are the only spring sport that is so get off the guy's back he is
teaching the kids how to win and also set a good example for them. let's
don't be like the people in Columbia {SCBC } and try to use the kids as
ponds they got to practice somewhere we paying for the field so let
them use it so what if the guy who coach have money he worked for it and
earn it and he is a GOOD GUY to all not just the white rich kids to all
black and white. Let's talk about this big tourney. that didn't happen
this weekend at the complex can we get Paul to Explain {The Nation Tour}

I lived in Union for many years, but there is one thing I know about the people. They never think about a change.They just sit back and let the crooks tell them what to do and when to do it.Point in referance, the county comissioners don't listen to the people. Go to the meeting and speak up. You have a right to be heard in public view. Tell them what you want, if they don't do it vote them out. The school board is above all, aleast they think so. How dare the superintendent take down awards and banners in the school. I would damand his resignation imediately. If he is so powerful then something needs to be done. Go to the school board meetings and tell them what you want. REMMEBER THEY WORK FOR YOU!!!!!!!STAND UP UNION. THE FUTURE IS YOURS. Why is everybody praising the General he is just getting credit for things that FBI have brought to light. If I can recall the General was the personal Man for union county schools for awhile and he hired alot of family members like Mr. Jeter has so it was not a problem then so what the big problem now.I can't say the General is not a good guy because I don't know him but be careful how you build a man up it usually set you up for a hard fall.Union County have been hurt by all the bad things that has went on so right now anything and anybody we think are good might not be be careful because the smoke will clear one day and what then do you have so let's be careful The General say he would run the county for 14,000 dollars is that all he can make isn't he retired you have to be careful with a man that will do anything for power.And By the way did'nt he run for Mike Anthony's seat as a independent sound like a man that change like the wind to me.The Union Tea Party no different than a PICNIC and you know what a picnic really mean. The point of the Complex was not for practice. Please do not miss the
point here. No one would have a problem with any child in this county
practicing on the new Sports Complex, the point is the Complex was built
as a high end facility designed for play and predominately tournament
play. When the county sells off the majority of the other ball fields
in this County then fine, but until then the taxpayers are not only
paying for the Complex they are also paying for the upkeep on more than
25 ball fields throughout Union County. Can Union taxpayers afford to
keep all these ball fields up? If the Complex is to be used for
practice then close the majority of the other fields because we don’t
need all of them. I am sure practicing on the Complex is fine with most
people but again don’t miss the point here, we are all paying out the
wazoo on more than just the Sports Complex. Do not forget about all
these properties off the tax books (ball fields) that the Union County
continues to keep up.

WHOO---WHOOO---MIKE WANTS ON GRAVY TRAIN ONE MORE TIME
Did you ever wonder why Union is the caboose of the state. Cause for the
last 8 years Anthony has been riding the gravy train. Yes he wants back
on for another ride. Lets see where we are under Anthony. We are about 3
from the bottom and have a 22% unemployment rate which is increasing.
We are considered the 19th worst place in the USA. Mike is also enjoying
a salary of about 60,000 dollars being a, "spokesperson" for Union
Schools. He has kept this job and should have know it is a burden on the
county yet he would have rather taken advantage of this instead of
doing what a leader does and sacrifice himself for a better purpose.
Have you ever heard him saying anything important? How about anything at
all? Now he wants to take credit for all these companies that came to
Union. How many in 8 years? Wait I thought Morgan and Betenbaugh brought
them. Have you ever heard him speak out against Morgan or Betenbaugh?
And how about all those folks that stood up for USC-U. He was just the
voice of many.---oh he did say something, about time. I say it is time
to let Mike off at the next stop. Let him know the gravy train don't run
no more.

Let me give MY opinion on the new complex. As much money that was spent
on that field. I think everyone should be able to use it for practice or
games. What damage were those girls doing by practicing on Sunday
morning?? That's exactly why the children and teens around this town
stay in trouble now--they have no where to go and nothing to do, and
someone had the nerve to get on here and bi**ch because the girls were
on the field outside of a tournament. Do you realize how many people in
this county are paying for that ball field, who don't even have children
that play sports?? Well I do have a child playing, but we aren't
playing on the nice-new fields, so get a hobby and stop complaining
because the kids are making good use of the field. The money is being
spent to keep it up,so I think we all should be able to use it.

As a student of UCHS I have to say its a smoker friendly environment. The rules in the agenda are a big joke. The Administrators are an even bigger joke and the punishment is the biggest joke of them all. None of the administrators see that taking a smoke break between classes in a "Smoke-Free" environment is seriously wrong. Not only is it illegal (under-aged), but it endangers my health and smells bad. The smokers at the school have taken notice of the administators BLIND EYE and have now started smoking more than just cigarettes. The hallways are always hazy with the sweet smell of MARIJUANA and cigarettes when the late bell rings. Why don't I tell you might ask? It does nobody any good to tell the principal or teachers when I or any other student witness somebody smoking. The administrators, usually in no hurry to investigate, will tell you plan and blunt "we can't do nothing if we don't see them smoking, but ill check". Mr. Administrator why don't you come stand in the restrooms during class changes instead of gossiping with other teachers? Mr. Administrator put a little pep in your step to catch the smoker. I guess that is too much to ask. As a former student of the Spartanburg District I have witness a more non tolerant system. Smoke detectors were installed in the restrooms and when it went off you got more than just a slap on the wrist or phone call home. Suspension, intervention, and a $50 fine. No Union is not Spartanburg, Greenville, Charlotte but its not too much to ask for to stop under-aged smoking in schools, in any county. Instead of buying white paint to stupidly paint over beautiful wall art work, maybe the district office should of bought smoke detectors. Isn't that what they get paid for? A little too much PAY to sit on their butts on main street and do nothing that shows much improvement. The Truth is UCHS needs CHANGE.

Without Betenbaugh to direct the location, time and place others don't
know how to play the shell
game. Let me ask these questions. What about money from
the recycling centers, or money to fix up the old AFB on Main? How
about the money that comes in from Standard Textile in a rental building
and other monies that come in? How about all those cost overrides from
the complex what did he do there? While Betenbaugh is suppose to
cooperate I doubt he will volunteer too much information TFT believe
he is protecting a net work of accomplices. Continue to press him and
let him know that he will be retried on all charges if he continues to
hold out. You need to look real close to his associates. Many are
considered those that would not have participated but I am not so sure.
So keep digging you got a lot more rats to clean out.

The buzz around town is, the County took away everyone's Sam's Club
Credit Cards that were issued to Department Heads and whoever else had
them. Some hear folks used the card for their own households.
Therefore, "Timefortruth," believes an investigation is warranted.
Anyone, that has done this needs to resign and repay the county. Those
that don't come forward should be fired when discovered, repay the
county and tried for defrauding the county. A report needs to be given
to the citizens of Union about this incident. Anyone covering this up
needs to be held accountable. It may be a good idea for citizens of
Union to write SLED for additional help. Folks it sounds like we have
foxes in the hen house. It is time to clean
these rascals out.

PREDICTIONS MADE
FEB 09
We
have tried to be very accurate in reporting and through efforts of many
folks we have tried to educate the public about problems in Union City
and County. Here are some things we have predicted that have come true.
It was predicted that corruption and kickbacks were taking place.
Unemployment would rise as would violent crime. Taxes would
increase. Gas
prices would be near 2.00 gallon soon. And there was
more.
Now we will make some future predictions to help you
prepare for the future.
Unemployment will soon hit 21%. correct prediction on the head
LSP will soon have to lay off due to the slowdown at BMW. i believe
this was correct The County Supervisor and Mayor will continue to
raise taxes. i believe this correct We will loose one of our
grocery stores 6 months after Wal-Mart opens. -wrong
Wal-Mart will hire lots of folks but those numbers will drop by 15% as
Wal-Mart late night staffing is curtailed. understand this correct
We will loose 2 restaurants in the next year. lost 5 We will
loose 2 clothing stores in the next year. one By August gas will
be 2.50 a gallon. right at 2.50 Tourism in Union will see no
significant numbers. Correct Baseball Complex will compete with
you for water. In other words your plants suffer while the turf remains
green. -correct we had water restrictions Milliken plants will
close. - correct- Monarch Disney will cut back by 25%. i think
this is correct Four local government officials will be
indicted on corruption charges by August. since this post we have
had around 4 indicted

TFT WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE UNION SCHOOL BOARD
This is very encouraging to the citizens of Union County. We would like
to thank you for picking someone in town that has proven themselves to
be a leader. Giving Mrs. Woodall a chance to prove what she can do as
Superintendent is a good thing. Hopefully she will do a great job in
leading Union in the educational profession. We also would like to thank
the school board in the salary that was given to Mrs. Woodall. While it
would be nice to give big raises the national, state, and local economy
need an understanding by boards and managers in the government to
reflect what the economy can bare. This in no way should diminish the
notion that she is less qualified than other people. This is a
reflection of wise policy by those in charge. Union is starting to
understand what needs to be done to keep the ship afloat. Throwing money
at problems doesn't always make problems go away or better sometimes it

SPARTANBURG COMPLEX IS JUST ONE OF
MANY
As someone wrote about a new complex up the road this will be going on
all over the state. TFT wrote about this over a year ago. Union will not
be the only town with a complex. As more are built this will take those
dollars that were expected out of Union. This should have been seen an
understood by county council. This shows again the lack of leadership
and understanding of complex issues. This is another reason the civic
center should not be built. This center will see increased competition
and will not be a money maker but a money taker.

UNION IS WHAT IT IS
Union needs to recognize it is not Spartanburg, Greenville or Charlotte.
Many of Union's citizens think we should be. Well, we aren't. No matter
how much you want us to be we are not there we are moving in the other
direction. As folks want to push us in that direction the fact is the
more you push the more you fall. Union does not have the economy to
support the "finer" things of life. As you attempt to have them you
raise the taxes and force more folks out of business which makes Union
worse. The sports complex and civic center will be two prime examples.
Also adding other non-money making items like Baseball Museums and
Children's Museums will put additional nails in the coffin of this
economy. The old phrase, you don't put the cart before the horse rains
true. In this case Union is putting a whole team.

TFT would like to thank Paul Wilkes for clarifying the Sunday
game play at the Complex on the Mike Stevens Radio show this morning.
Of course some in Union do not and will not accept that games will have
to be played on Sunday in order to keep up. We do appreciate the fact
the you have been on point when answering questions concerning the
Sports Complex. From the article written in the Union Daily Times
insert about the Timken Sports Complex it also appears that you are well
qualified to run the place. So my only question is… Why are you not
the Sports Complex Director instead of the assistant? You have
been there to answer questions and have shown a real sense of
professionalism. When the job came open at the beginning some of us
here at TFT did not appreciate nor did we believe your education was
indeed in accordance with the job description. This was only because
the good ole boy system always tends to be a factor in this County.
However, you have shown us your expertise and when we are wrong we can
say so. Keep up the good work Mr. Wilkes and you will be an asset to
the Timken Sports Complex even though we still believe the Complex
itself is a waste of taxpayer money. Maybe you can change our minds on
that one too, but I don't think so.

I read online
that General Sinclair is running for office at a
reduced rate and i think that is a wonderful thing. I also was told that
the
toughest part of his job was having to deal with the wrong doings and
the mess
that Donnie Betenbaugh left it in. I also read that others were going to
join the race for reelection to office. I agree with other post that it
is
time for a change. Most current council members were only pawns in
Donnie's chess game! Most of them
also let all this spending
continue without questioning it. I would even go on to say that one
council member still talks to Donnie on a regular basis. Now you have to
wonder
why they run for these offices??? For the money and for the insurance! I
also
have a question: How can you push for jobs in this county when you dont
have a

sold motorola radio's does not make them stolen. He buys and sells all

this debacle took place. Why didn't he say Betenbaugh? He just

It
has been brought up before but I never heard anything about the
outcome of the investigation.Seems like several Civil War long guns
still packed in original case went missing from our museum,I wonder
what else may be gone as well.
Seems like only two individuals had access to keys,one being the ex-
sheriff whom was defeated by David Taylor.Now there is a
possibility that perhaps the keys may have been stolen and
reproduced without the knowledge of the 2 individuals but with all
the chatter about the guns and ex-sheriff it does make you wonder
as I"m sure someone would pay a handsome bounty for these weapons
from collectors.
Also 2 more things making the rounds at local gossip holes from
Spartanburg to Union I've heard about recently was that ex-sheriff
and his #1 Deputy at the time were running a e-bay store and that
several motorola radios and various other things were sold there
and by the deputy at out of town ham festivals that were possibly
county property at the time.
Also some used bulletproof vest and license to own fully automated
weapons went to some of the ex-sheriffs close friends whom are
private citizens right before change of power between new and old
sheriffs.
I really don't know what to think about all this but its no
pleasure to tell anyone you are a resident of Union anymore.

I will no vote for Andre Bauer, because when he was in the House Representative, He was ask about the closing of Jonesville and Lockhart Schools. He was in favor of closing both schools. When ask to meet with the people of Jonesville and Lockhart he refused. If the School board and superabundant had done there jobs, both schools would be open today. Instead of being millions of dollars in debt, This is something that our kids will have to pay off. By the way Jonesville elementary and lockhart elementary are still open, what have they really accomplished. I am sure it is not what they said they would. Someone needs to look at the numbers other than the accountant.

In the indictment for Betenbaugh it was stated that he used county money
to buy pool supplies. These pool supplies were obviously purchased
with county credit cards and a particular employee was instructed to
purchase these supplies so that Betenbaugh did not have to do it
himself. The report that was issued about the former Supervisor by Walt
Wilkins stated that Betenbaugh has fostered an environment of
corruption within the County Courthouse. No joke! and look what these
people that worked under Betenbaugh’s supervision are still doing. The
courthouse should be exterminated and those who took part in what was
allowed by Betenbaugh should be kicked to the curb.
Good luck General Sinclair you have quite a job before you and you
appear to be completely sincere in your duties to this County. Thank
you for your compassion for Union and for your efforts to turn our
County back around. We need your help and I believe if anyone can do it
you can.

DOUG GILLIAM MAY BE ABLE TO HELP WITH GUNS
I do not know this guy but someone said something about a pawn shop in
Chester. Says he use to own it. Maybe he knows who brought guns to his
shop if it was his? Also Donnie Bentenbaugh could help cause he is
facing 600 years. I understand Doug and Donnie were real tight. Maybe
they discussed this. Also Howard Wells use to work at the sheriff
department- he might know something that could help. He would know who
he sent if he did to various locations and he might be willing to help
out on this investigation. OK sheriff, supervisor, SLED, FBI. We got you
started on a good place to start. Maybe some of these folks can help
you find out where maybe tens of thousands of county dollars wound up.

while on my daily jog on the riley rd i passed by coach pitts house,
theres a for sale sign in the yard, if i was a teacher and coach here
for the past better part of 30 years id sell my house and get out too,
while mike anthony is drawing 60k a year on top of his 100k plus salary

and i was forced to retire a year early and lose my job id leave too
after all yesterdays paper said 2 people were cited for giving alcohol

no permission to be there since there was noone home at the time. Do
they own the property or have any rights to be on it much less be
underneath my house? I have no driveway due to their tractors that have
been parked in my driveway for three weeks without moving, I have torn
up my yard due to having no where to park, and now I must park down the
road and haul three children up the road to my house until they decide
to get out of my yard. Seems to me that the city of union will just do
whatever they want at the expense of us measely tax payers. I think its
time we take a stand for ourselves. Not only do they raise our power
bills to hundreds of dollars but then they come wreck our yards too? And
sadly, the mayor does not care. Welcome to Union the city of

information to law enforcement months ago and it is understood Sinclair
and Union citizens had been told of this months if not over a year ago.
TFT had already conducted its own investigation and let everyone know of

agencies are now just becoming aware let me emphasize that TFT
understands that the county may be engaged in illegal activity in the
way they have taxed citizens in this county. TFT understands some,
"incrowd" folks were taxed at a lower rate and that unpopular people may
have been taxed at a higher rate. Who did this I am not sure however
this seems to be a fact. Do we have to wait months before an

citizen arrested for having a sign when other signs were not enforced as

come to TIME FOR TRUTH because we are way ahead of you.
I want to set it clear about a sign. I
understand a local business lady which I thought to be a man had a sign
on her property. The truth is I did not like the sign as I don't like
most signs and wish most would go away. However, for several years I
noticed signs just like it all over the city. Well, there was a posting
saying something about the city and mayor which was negative. Right
after the posting the lady/man was threatened with jail for having an,
"illegal" sign while I saw others just yards away and the other citizens
were not threatened as I understand. I saw a similar case as I remember
the details where city/coutny officials were arrested for misuse of
power. It is my position that those that engaged with threat of force
have misused their power, and violated these citizen's rights guaranteed
by the Constitution of the United States. Therefore it is also my
position that they should set the record straight or face fines, and
civil sanctions. As you are aware those that took action against these
citizens in my opinion have violated the oath of office in which they

since city council is aware of this you are legally bound to hold those
that took this action accountable or you
will be held accountable as well. In the end if these actions are not
taken then civil action against this city could and might be substantial
and you the tax payers will pay the price as it is your duty to hold
your elected leaders accountable. So the sign that irks me the most is
the incompetence of city leadership.
It is time for us to derail Brad since he has been on
